If you are not already familiar with channel page we would recommend you first take a quick look at our channel page guide that explains what each part of your channel page is.

Setting up your channel page is one of the most important aspects of being a broadcaster. Your channel page will be where your viewers and other users can find information about you and your broadcast.

Avatar and Cover Image

To kickstart your channel we will start with setting up an avatar and cover image.

The avatar and cover image are two of the most prominent features on your profile. Whether it be your favourite picture or dedicated branding that you utilize they will be one of the first few parts of your channel other users will see.

To get started with your avatar and cover image simply go to your channel page while logged in and click on your username in the channel navigation bar.

After clicking on either your avatar or cover image you will be prompted with the option to change your avatar and cover image.

HELPFUL HINT

The recommended size for a cover image is 1200x480px. Twitch pages (and your banner art) scale based on the width of each user’s browser window. Images shorter or taller than 480px will be scaled to 480px high. Images will also be stretched if a user's browser window is open wider than the width of the image. To ensure a consistent look across all monitor resolutions, it is best to make your image as wide as possible and concentrate the graphics on the left.

Both the avatar and cover image file sizes must also be under 3MB each.

Moving onwards, the video player banner is an image that will be displayed on your channels video player while you are offline. This is a great area to capitalize on for branding or even providing information to your viewers in the form of a schedule, social media and so forth!

You can set your video player banner via your settings under Channel & Videos, please note that your image must be under 3MB.

Note: We recommend uploading a 1920x1080px image with any text or important content near the center.

Info Panels

Info Panels are a place where you can show your personality and give viewers the information they need. Many viewers check out panels when they decide if they want to follow or subscribe to a streamer. This is a chance for you to show off your personality! To help you get started, we’ve listed some common panels you will find on successful channels:

  • Stream Overview: It is important to include an overview or description of your channel to let viewers know what they can expect from you. Try listing a few of your favorite things to stream to get started.
  • Schedule: We recommend listing the days and times you usually stream so your viewers know when to tune in. It’s okay if this changes, just keep your panel up to date.
  • Social Media: Your viewers want to know where to find you on channels outside of Twitch as well. Many streamers find social media helpful to keep in touch with their community and provide updates. Try including a link to your favorite social media channels to engage community.
  • Community Shoutouts: Did someone do something to support you? Panels are a great way to show some of your community members or other streamers love.
