This App Can't Run on Your PC

If you get an error that states:

"This app can't run on your PC."

when trying to play a profile.  Please try the following.

In the Twitch App click on the icon; then select File from the options in the menu.

Next, click on the Settings option.

This will open up your Settings options.  Click on the Minecraft tab.

Scroll down to LAUNCH METHOD.

Change it from Native Launcher to Jar Launcher.  Try which ever version of Java you have installed, if you don't have Java installed already please do so at this time.  If that doesn't work:

  • check to make sure you have the newest version
  • try with a 64 bit version

Unable to Start the Minecraft Runtime

If you get an error that states:

"Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Environment. This is most likely caused
by a corruption. Please try to reinstall Minecraft."

when trying to play a profile.  Please try the following.

Use Jar Launcher

In the Twitch App click on the icon; then select File from the options in the menu.

Next, click on the Settings option.

This will open up your Settings options.  Click on the Minecraft tab.

Scroll down to LAUNCH METHOD.

Change it from Native Launcher to Jar Launcher.  Try which ever version of Java you have installed, if you don't have Java installed already please do so at this time.  If that doesn't work:

  • check to make sure you have the newest version
  • try with a 64 bit version

Security Software

Try disabling any antivirus programs and firewalls temporarily to see if they are blocking Twitch.

Most antiviruses have a disable mode for testing things.  If you can't find it you may need to contact the Antivirus Support to assist you.

If you have a router you may also have a firewall with that.

If it works when your security software is disabled, you will want to add the Twitch App to the security softwares' white/exclusion lists.  If you are unsure on how to do that you may need to contact the Antivirus Support to assist you.

Run as Admin

Check to make sure you are running both Twitch and Minecraft as administrator.

For the Twitch App

In the Twitch App click on the icon; then select File from the options in the menu.

Next, click on the Settings option.

This will open up your Settings options.  Click on the General tab.

Scroll down to towards the bottom and locate RUN TWITCH AS ADMINISTRATOR.  Make sure it's toggled on (purple).

Generic Crashing

If your Minecraft is crashing upon launch of the game, and you have an nVidia Graphics Card, you may want to check your graphics card drivers. They may be out dated even if you have updated them through Windows Updater.

You can check nVidia's site for updates.

You will want to update your Nvidia Graphics Card drivers to the most recent ones. Make sure you do this through the Nvidia site and not through Windows update.
