Stream Recaps

Your Stream Recap is a shelf of Clips from your latest stream, shown on your channel page. Clips you and your channel editors make while you're live are added automatically, so viewers who missed your stream can catch up. You can review, edit, or add to your Recap at any time. Stream Recaps are available to anyone who streams on Twitch.

Stream Recaps aren't the same as your annual Twitch Recap, a once-a-year look back at your time on Twitch.

The Recap shelf on channel pages is available on every platform. Recaps on the home screen are available on the Twitch mobile app.

Viewers: Where to Find Stream Recaps

Stream Recaps let you catch up on streams you missed from the channels you watch.

Channel Page

Visit a streamer's channel page on any platform to see Recaps from their recent streams. Clips play in the order they happened during the stream.

Home Screen (Twitch Mobile App)

On the Twitch mobile app, Recaps from channels you follow appear on your home screen.

If a channel's latest stream doesn't have enough Clips, its Recap shelf is hidden.

Streamers: How Your Recap Is Created

While you're live, you and your channel editors can make Clips of your stream. These Clips are added to your Recap in the order they happened, and your Recap appears on your channel to viewers about an hour after your stream ends. Your stream must be at least 1 minute long, and your Recap can include up to 25 Clips.

There's nothing to post. Each stream gets its own Recap, and your Recaps stay on your channel page.

Reviewing and Editing Your Recap

From your Stream Summary, review the Clips available for your latest Recap. You can filter by:

  • Clips I've made
  • Editor Clips
  • Community Clips

You can add or remove Clips, and change your Recap's title. By default, your Recap's title is the title of your stream. Once your Recap is posted, if you edit a Clip in your Recap, the changes appear right away. If you delete a Clip, it's removed from your Recap.

To review your Recap before it appears on your channel, open your Stream Summary on the web or in the Twitch mobile app. In the mobile app, you can also tap the + button in the bottom navigation and select Review and Edit Recap. After your Recap is posted, this option is called Edit Recap.

Turning Off Automatic Clip Inclusion

Automatic inclusion is on by default. To change it:

  1. Go to Creator Dashboard > Settings > Stream.
  2. Under Clips Settings, find Automatically include Clips created by me or my editors in Recaps.
  3. Turn the toggle off.

With the setting off, Clips aren't added to your Recap automatically. To add a Clip yourself, select it in your Clips Manager and choose Add to Recap. In the Twitch mobile app, you can also tap the + button in the bottom navigation bar to build your Recap.

Who Can Add Clips to Your Recap?

Clips made by you and your channel editors are added to your Recap automatically. Clips made by viewers (Community Clips) aren't added automatically, but you can add them yourself with Add to Recap.

Any Clip you add must come from the stream your Recap covers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are Clips added to my Recap?

Clips made by you and your editors while you're live are added automatically, in the order they happened. Your Recap appears on your channel about an hour after your stream ends. Community Clips made by viewers aren't added automatically, but you can add them yourself.

Can I edit my Recap?

Yes, at any time. Your Recap is always on your channel page, so there's no separate posting step. Review and edit it from your Stream Summary.

How many Clips can my Recap include?

Your Recap shows up to 25 Clips. When you review your Recap, you'll see every eligible Clip from the stream, so you can choose which ones to include.

Does my Stream Recap expire?

No. Each stream's Recap stays on your channel page.

Can I remove a Clip from my Recap?

Yes. Remove it while reviewing your Recap. If you delete the Clip itself, it's also removed from your Recap.

Do I need to be an Affiliate or Partner to have a Stream Recap?

No. Anyone who streams on Twitch can have a Stream Recap.

Do Stream Recap Clips help recover a Watch Streak?

Yes. Watching Clips in a Recap from a stream you missed can help recover your Watch Streak, but Recap Clips don't show the Watch Streaks icon.

Is a Stream Recap the same as my Twitch Recap?

No. Your Twitch Recap is a once-a-year, personalized summary of your time on Twitch. A Stream Recap is a shelf on your channel page with Clips from one of your streams.
