Chat Emote ( /me )

Manapot Feb 04, 2013 10:53AM PST

Whenever you use the /me command, it puts the text right after the name (no space). Please fix this, as my chat bot uses quite a few emote commands to display things in color so they stick out. Looks stupid when it says:

Manabothands out free ManaPots!

Instead of:

Manabot hands out free ManaPots!

Just put two spaces and it should appear as normal, that's what I do.

You have to type two spaces for it to make one space after the username. I agree though, you should only have to type one space.

The problem is, that my chat bot can not send multiple spaces through mIRC. This makes it so everything I type has no space after the bot's username. Not sure why Twitch hasn't fixed this yet, it's a quick and simple fix...

I agree it should be fixed to only require 1 space, the reason I say fix it is because before the new layout was released to beta it was working fine but since the new layout it just ignores the first space you type in after the /me text.

Old Code:

<script id='chat-line-action' type='text/html'>
<li class='chat_from_{{sender}} line' data-sender='{{sender}}'>
<p style='color:{{color}}'><span class='small'>{{timestamp}}&nbsp;</span>{{#showModButtons}}{{> chat-mod-buttons}}{{/showModButtons}}<span class='nick'>{{displayname}}</span><span class='chat_line' style='{{color}}'>@message</span></p>
</li>
</script>

New Code:

<script id='chat-line-action' type='text/html'>
<li class='chat_from_{{sender}} line' data-sender='{{sender}}'>
<p><span class='small'>{{timestamp}}&nbsp;</span>{{#showModButtons}}{{> chat-mod-buttons}}{{/showModButtons}}<span class='nick' style='color:{{color}};'>{{displayname}}</span><span class='chat_line' style='color:{{color}};'>&nbsp;@message</span></p>
</li>
</script>

What an easy fix that was.. And it fixes colored timestamp and malformed style in the chat line span.
