Remote Host Closed Socket

azvent Aug 29, 2013 02:06PM PDT

I've been trying to use X-Chat to set up a chat overlay, but every time I try to connect to servers I get this error.

* 22Looking up azvent.jtvirc.com
22* 22Connecting to azvent.jtvirc.com (199.9.250.239) port 6667...
22* 22Connected. Now logging in...
22* Login unsuccessful
22* Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Use irc.twitch.tv, not *.jtvirc.com

I am having the same problem, I can auth with the IRC server, but as soon as I wrote a message to a channel the server close the socket, the same behavior is present with the chat. I can only send private messages to other users.
