Suddenly the streams I proactively watch are stuttering really badly on 720p and quality above.
I've tested out several steams and I'm getting the same stuttering video results on high quality so it can't be on the streamer's end.
Due to some additional unnecessary YouTube stuttering/buffering, I've come to the conclusion that my ISP is throttling my video/live stream download speeds.
I have Verizon FiOS 85mb/s down + 35mb/s up so my internet should be able to easily handle 720p and quality above.
So... how do I figure out whether or not I'm being throttled by my ISP or if it's the Twitch servers?
Well, we haven’t changed anything major on our side, so if you all of a sudden have huge lag issues, it’s likely to be your ISP changing routing or ‘shaping’ traffic. You may want to check that you don’t have any programs such as Pando Media Booster that can be carrying data in the background.
No, we do not throttle non-partners. They’re treated exactly the same in our network as any other channel.
